Cyprus Non-Dom for Swedish Residents — Extended Liability and the DTT
Sweden taxes dividends at 20% (capital gains) plus up to 35% income tax. Cyprus non-dom gives you 0% SDC. But Sweden has an extended liability rule — Swedish-source income (dividends, capital gains) can be taxed for 5–10 years after emigration, and there is a deemed disposal rule.
What does non-dom save you?
Compares your home country, a domiciled Cyprus resident (SDC + GHS), and a Cyprus non-dom (0% SDC + GHS capped at €4,770).

Leaving Sweden — deemed disposal and extended liability
Sweden applies a deemed disposal (fiktiv avyttring) on emigration: you are treated as if you had sold your shares and securities at market value on the day of departure. The unrealised gain is taxed at 30% (capital income rate). Payment can be deferred until actual sale. Additionally, Sweden has extended limited tax liability (begränsad skattskyldighet) for 5–10 years after emigration, during which Swedish-source capital income (dividends, capital gains on Swedish shares) may still be taxed. Once the extended period expires, Sweden taxes only Swedish real estate and permanent establishment income.
