Cyprus Tax Calculators and Tools
Free Cyprus tax calculators, rebuilt for the 2026 reform. Every tool answers a specific tax question — income tax, VAT, non-dom savings, crypto, rental income and residency.
What changed in 2026
The 2026 reform rewrote Cyprus income tax from the ground up. Five things changed, and every calculator on this page was rebuilt because of them.
The tax-free band widened from €19,500 to €22,000. The 0% band gained €2,500. A resident earning €22,000 now pays €0 income tax — previously €500. The 20% band ceiling rose from €28,000 to €32,000, the 25% band ceiling from €36,300 to €42,000, and the 30% band ceiling from €60,000 to €72,000. The 35% threshold moved from €60,001 to €72,001. On €55,000, the 2026 bands save €985. On €80,000, €1,585. The income tax calculator includes a 2025-vs-2026 toggle so you can see the difference.
SDC on rental income was abolished. Until 31 December 2024, domiciled residents paid 3% Special Defence Contribution on rental income, plus income tax at progressive rates. From 2025, SDC on rental income is zero. Landlords now pay only income tax and GHS at 2.65%. The rental income calculator was rebuilt to reflect the abolition. Non-dom residents were already exempt from SDC on rental income — the change levels the field between domiciled and non-dom landlords for rental income specifically.
SDC on dividends was restructured. Dividends from profits earned from 1 January 2026 carry 5% SDC for domiciled residents, down from 17%. Dividends from pre-2026 profits received on or before 31 December 2031 still carry 17%. After 31 December 2031, all dividends drop to 5%. Non-dom residents pay 0% SDC regardless of profit vintage. The non-dom savings calculator now reflects the 5% post-2026 rate for domiciled comparison. GHS at 2.65% applies to dividends for both domiciled and non-dom residents.
Crypto disposals fall under Article 20E at 8%. From 1 January 2026, disposal of crypto-assets by individuals is taxed at a flat 8% under Article 20E of the Income Tax Law. This is separate from the progressive income tax bands. Mining and staking rewards are taxed at progressive rates when received, then 8% on disposal. The crypto tax calculator was built around Article 20E. Before 2026, crypto taxation was ambiguous — the 2026 reform removed the uncertainty.
GHS remains at 2.65%, capped at €4,770. GHS did not change in 2026, but it applies to a wider income base: dividends, interest, and rental income are all subject to GHS regardless of SDC status. The cap is €180,000 of income. Every calculator on this page includes GHS in its output where applicable.
Why every calculator needed rebuilding
The 2025 bands are still relevant for comparison and for late filings covering the 2025 tax year. But every calculator that outputs a 2026 figure now uses the new bands, the abolished SDC on rental, the restructured SDC on dividends, and Article 20E for crypto. Calculators that showed 2025 rates without a toggle have been replaced.
The practical impact
A €55,000 employee saves €985 in income tax under 2026 bands. An €80,000 self-employed person saves €1,585. A landlord with €20,000 in rental income saves €600 in abolished SDC. A domiciled dividend recipient with €50,000 in post-2026 dividends saves €6,000 — the rate dropped from 17% to 5%. A crypto investor disposing of €100,000 in gains pays €8,000 at the flat 8% rate.
The reform was designed to simplify, not to reduce revenue dramatically. Most taxpayers save modestly. The real winners are landlords (SDC abolished), domiciled dividend recipients (rate cut by 12 percentage points on post-2026 profits), and crypto holders (clear 8% regime replaces ambiguity). Non-dom residents were already in the best position and remain so — 0% SDC on dividends, interest, and rental income for 17 years.
What did not change
Corporate tax remains at 15%. VAT rates remain at 19% standard, 9% reduced, 5% ultra-reduced. The IP box effective rate is 3% (up from 2.5% before 2026, because the headline rate rose). The 50% first-employment exemption remains available for 17 years on income above €55,000. The non-dom regime remains 17 years with 0% SDC on dividends, interest, and rental income. The 60-day rule for tax residency remains available. Social insurance remains at 8.8% (employee) on employment income capped at €62,400.
How to use these tools
Each calculator is standalone — you do not need to create an account or share personal data. Pick the tool that matches your situation, enter your income, and adjust the toggles for residency, domicile, and any exemptions that apply. The income tax and non-dom calculators include a 2025 comparison so you can see exactly what the reform saved you. If your situation does not fit neatly into one tool — mixed income sources, foreign pension elections, first-employment exemptions — use the form below and a Cyprus tax advisor will run the numbers with you.
